Bedouin Soundclash Playing World Expo In Shanghai

Bedouin Soundclash will play the World Expo in Shanghai from Oct. 4 to Oct. 8 as part of a bill that includes 150 artists representing Canada's cultural hub.
The Expo's theme is "Better City, Better Life" and is described as a "great event to explore the full potential of urban life in the 21st century and a significant period in urban evolution."
Canada's cultural showcase, "The Living City: Inclusive, Sustainable, Creative," is produced by Cirque Du Soleil in partnership with the federal government.
Avril Lavigne will be Canada's ambassador at the Expo.
Let's hope Bedouin will have better luck in terms of public toilets than Woodhands had when they toured China.
"I walked into one of those public urinals and there was this kid with a handheld radio playing this music, taking a shit, and just looking at me," singer/keyboardist Dan Werb told CHARTattack in 2008, describing one of his weirdest moments during their tour of China that year.
The Expo begins May 1 and wraps up Oct. 31. St. John's, Nfld.'s Hey Rosetta! are also expected to perform.
Bedouin Soundclash frontman Jay Malinowski's debut solo disc, Bright Lights & Bruises, will be released Feb. 16 and he'll tour through February and March in support of the record.
Before jetting off to China later this year, the band are scheduled to play The Mod Club on March 12 as part of Canadian Music Week.
