It looks like comedian Margaret Cho's upcoming new album is going to be stacked full of Canadian musicians.

Tegan And Sara, The New Pornographers' A.C. Newman and Cliks frontman Lucas Silveira are among the acts that have recorded songs with Cho for a new album of comedy songs that will be released later this year.

Cho asked Tegan And Sara to write a song with her for the disc, which they wrote prior to recording it in Vancouver with producer Howard Redekopp (The New Pornographers, You Say Party! We Say Die!).

"She is outrageously talented and funny and we had never been enlisted for this type of collaboration before!" Tegan Quin wrote in a Jan. 7 post on Tegan And Sara's website. "We had met Margaret before, but only briefly backstage at one of our shows in Los Angeles, so we were REALLY nervous!"

Everything was more than fine, though. The tune is called "Intervention" and they recorded it over two days.

"Imagine 10 hours of laughing, singing, eating, laughing, talking, eating and laughing and you might have a bit of a clearer picture of what our two days and nights were like," Quin wrote. "The song itself turned out amazing. Margaret has a great voice and was so easy to work with and really collaborative! Definitely a budding musician! I even got to play drums and do an improv comedy bit!"

Cho later posted pictures from the studio on her Twitter.

Silveira was in the studio with Cho recording on Monday (Jan. 11). This isn't the first time he and Cho have worked together. Cho appeared in The Cliks' video for "Eyes In The Back Of My Head," playing Silveira's love interest.

Other musicians slated to appear on the disc include Amanda Palmer, Ben Lee, producer Jon Brion and Grant Lee Phillips. I, for one, really, really, really hope this collaboration with Phillips makes it on the album:
