Linkin Park fans and iPhone addicts will likely appreciate this news: The nu-metallers will premiere a new song through the upcoming Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion Apple iPhone and iPod Touch game, which will be available soon.
"I got a test-build of the game, and it's looking great," MC Mike Shinoda wrote on his blog on Thursday (Jan. 7). "As you would expect, my bandmates and I worked hand-in-hand with the design team to create the look and content of the game."
Users will have to solve a mystery in Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion. The game will involve collecting six items that have been stolen from the rebellion's leaders (Linkin Park) and collecting them to stop PixxelKorp, some kind of evil, futuristic, 8-bit-annihilating video game overlords.
But the real surprise comes when you finish the game.
"I can't give away too many details about the game just yet... but I can tell you this: for all the Linkin Park fans excited to hear new music, I have some big news for you: if you finish this game, you get more than just a credit screen.
"You get a brand new Linkin Park song."
No release date has been confirmed for the game yet.
Linkin Park are working on the follow-up to 2007's Minutes To Midnight, which they've described as "beat-driven."
