Paramore, Lady Gaga Win People's Choice Awards

Paramore, Lady Gaga and Eminem were some of the music-related winners at this year's People's Choice Awards.

Lady Gaga took home two trophies for favourite breakout music artist and favourite pop artist during the show, which was broadcast Wednesday (Jan. 6) evening on CBS. Paramore were voted favourite rock band, while Eminem won for favourite hip-hop artist. Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban also received awards.

The People's Choice Awards also recognizes fan favourites in television and film, and some of those winners included Johnny Depp, Sandra Bullock, Hugh Jackman, Jim Carrey, Taylor Lautner, the Twilight series, Inglourious Basterds and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The People's Choice Awards are handed out annually and are determined by the public, who vote for their favourite nominees in each category.
