Muse Could Score Films In Future

Muse's sound is often described as "bombastic," "gigantic" and "over-the-top," and they take their name from Greek mythology, so it's fitting that were asked to write the soundtrack for the upcoming remake of 1981's Clash Of The Titans.

Singer/guitarist Matthew Bellamy told Britain's Daily Star tabloid that the band had been invited to do the soundtrack for the film, and were thinking about writing music for films in the future.

"It's something we're up for doing — it's just a case of timing because we're always on tour," he said. "Clash Of The Titans is the first interesting offer we've had for film work.

"We're definitely interested in writing for films at some point when we get a break from being on the road."

It's not known whether any of the band's music will make it into the film, mainly because Craig Armstrong (Romeo + Juliet, Cruel Intentions) is writing the score.

Clash Of The Titans was originally directed by Desmond Davis (Girl With Green Eyes, Smashing Time) and starred Laurence Olivier (Spartacus, Wuthering Heights), Maggie Smith (The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie, Murder By Death) and Bond girl Ursula Andress (Dr. No). It's about the Greek myth of Perseus.

The remake, which opens in theatres March 26, is directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Avatar), Liam Neeson (Gangs Of New York, Schindler's List), Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient, The Reader) and Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum Of Solace).
