NIN Planning "Reinvention" In 2010

Nine Inch Nails thanked fans in a pre-Christmas message for an "exceptional year!" The band bid farewell to the road with their Wave Goodbye tour in 2009 and put hordes of band equipment up for grabs on eBay.
But fans should expect more to come in 2010.
"Sorry I haven't been around much lately, I've been working on not working for a couple of months, which for me is hard work," lead singer Trent Reznor wrote in "Wave Hello," a Dec. 23 post on the band's website.
"2010 has a number of things planned including new material from nine inch nails and something else that isn't nine inch nails. I am in a state of rediscovery and reinvention that feels unfamiliar, unsure and exactly what I need."
Reznor also placed some live performances of the band's recent tour online, including a clip of "I'm Afraid Of Americans" from the band's show with Jane's Addiction at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre last June.
In related news, Bauhaus vocalist and solo performer Peter Murphy has released his cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt." The tune is available through iTunes and apparently was released in late October. Bauhaus toured with Nine Inch Nails throughout North America in 2006.
Nine Inch Nails released their last album, The Slip, in 2008. They've been pretty prolific since 2005, having released With Teeth, Year Zero and Ghosts I-IV in addition to The Slip.
