New Wintersleep Album Likely In May

Wintersleep aren't going to hibernate any time soon. They're nearly done recording the follow-up to 2007's Welcome To The Night Sky, which they say will probably be released in May.

The Halifax quintet are working on the as-yet-untitled disc at Glasgow's Castle Of Doom studio and were finishing tracking the guitars and vocals last week. The band will reconvene in the studio following the holidays to do some more tracking and start mixing the disc, which they say should be completely finished on Jan. 22.

"We are gathering artwork ideas with a certain person we have been fans of for a while now," the band wrote in on their website on Friday (Dec. 18). "Very excited to see it all come together. We are even at the point of playing around with a few working titles for the new album. Still just thinking though really so our lips are still sealed in that department.

"We are almost ready to say 'It's ALIVE!' in that Dr. Frankenstein sort of way."

In the meantime, Paul Murphy and his brother Michael Murphy will release an album under the Postdata moniker on Jan. 26 through Sonic Records.

Wintersleep spent most of 2009 touring in support of Welcome To The Night Sky, and recently finished a European tour with Editors.
