XX, Deryck Whibley Fans Come Out To Play In 15th Annual Year End Readers' Poll

It looks like the hipsters have started attacking our 15th Annual Year End Readers' Poll. Meanwhile, the 13-year-old Avril Lavigne fans have targeted their spam voting to a different section of the poll.

The XX's self-titled debut album has somehow garnered more than 800 votes in the best international album category over the last 24 hours and is now in the lead.

The XX are about 300 votes ahead of Franz Ferdinand's Blood, which had the lead until Tuesday (Dec. 22) morning. The Gossip's Music For Men rounds out third place in the category.

One heck of a battle has emerged between Tegan And Sara and Lavigne fans in the sexiest Canadian woman and best haircut categories.

Lavigne's raced ahead in both and did so after a full weekend of back and forth fighting between both artists' fans that eventually ended in them agreeing to some kind of "truce" that went basically along the lines of this (in fan-made graphics that resemble the kinds of things posted on Jonas Secrets):

Tegan And Sara fans: "You Avril fans should check out T&S. They're great and you'd probably really like them!"
Avril fans: "Ooookay, but we still think Avril's better!"
Tegan And Sara fans: "That's cool with us, but we're still voting for T&S anyway! Hey, let's stop arguing and just be friends!"
Avril fans: "Okay! Avril still rules, though!"

Lavigne's fans might also have something to do with Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley zooming into the lead in the sexiest Canadian man category. The Cliks' Lucas Silveira maintained first place for well over a week in that section of the poll, but Whibley has now accumulated over 2,400 votes, which must have come within the space of eight hours since Silveira still held the lead on Tuesday morning.

Elsewhere, Tegan And Sara's Sainthood still has more votes than anything else in the best Canadian album category, and their "Hell" still leads for best song and video.

We're still less than enthused with your lack of voting in the stupidest trend and best and worst things in music this year categories. Please vote and vote often. You can do so until January.
