Lil Wayne's Tour Bus Stopped After Cops Smell Marijuana

Have you ever had your mom shriek at you for "smoking pot" after you came home from a show reeking of it? That's kind of what happened to Lil Wayne on Friday (Dec. 18).
Wayne (real name Dwayne Carter III) and his crew were travelling through Texas when they were stopped by U.S. Border Patrol. The pull-over was supposed to be routine, but that all changed after a Border Patrol K-9 unit smelled the stench of pot in the air, MTV News reports.
Border Patrol then searched both of Lil Wayne's buses and marijuana was found on board both of them. Twelve people were detained and some members of Lil Wayne's crew received citations. Wayne's lawyer told TMZ his client was not cited.
Lil Wayne was a no-show at his gig in Laredo, Texas on Friday night and was forced to postpone it to the next day.
This isn't the first time the stench of ganja has caused Wayne some trouble this month. The New York Post reported last week that the $520,000 U.S. ($555,000 Canadian) Miami condo Wayne's currently renting is up for sale, but it's been hard for the broker to sell it because of the stench of weed permeating the place.
"My fiance and I called to make an appointment to see it, and the broker, deadpan, goes, 'I have two questions: Are you offended by the smell of marijuana? And do you mind coming late in the afternoon? It's currently rented by Lil Wayne, and these are not morning people,'" a prospective buyer told the newspaper.
"Once we got there, a member of Wayne's posse opened the door to the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Two hot, rap-video-looing girls were walking around in nothing but a bra and underwear, blasting hip-hop. We just went in and looked around and tried not to stare."
Wayne has previously advocated marijuana use in interviews. According to the New York Post, he once told Katie Couric he would "stand up for marijuana every day" and used it to treat his migraines.
While you're at it, check out this recent satire video from The Onion about the U.S. government hiring Lil Wayne to get rid of the drug problem in Mexico:
