Kid Cudi Leaves Lady Gaga Tour

Kid Cudi has left Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour.
The rapper, who made headlines earlier this week for allegedly punching a fan at a Vancouver show, will no longer be Gaga's opening act on her current North American tour. Instead, he'll finish 2009 playing his own shows.
A statement on Cudi's (real name Scott Mescudi) official website says Cudi is taking "an early leave of absence" from the tour "to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments."
Cudi had been playing his own shows in addition to opening for Gaga on the Monster Ball tour, so it's possible both gigs (which often saw him performing several times on the same night) got to be too much.
Cudi is set to star in the upcoming comedy series, How To Make It In America, which is being produced by Mark Wahlberg. He also plans to release his Cudder sophomore album sometime next year.
