Even Amazon is capable of leaking albums these days. So Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake member Spencer Krug has pre-empted the leak of his solo EP under the Moonface moniker by making it available for free download.
Dreamland EP: Marimba And Shit-Drums is not in stores until Jan. 26, but Krug put it on the internet on Wednesday (Dec. 16). You can pay for the one-track, 20-minute EP if you want, but you can pay as much or as little as you prefer. (Two years ago we'd have been calling this kind of release "pulling a Radiohead.")
The marimba-based EP follows a limited-edition seven-inch picture disc Krug released under the Moonface moniker earlier this year. It will also come with a "dream journal," which features Krug's chronicles of his dreams. It was apparently the inspiration for the entire EP.
