Lily Allen Breaks Up With Internet

Lily Allen has decided to get out of a self-abusive relationship with the Internet, and disconnect herself for good.
In fact, she's become so disconnected that she might as well be a luddite.
"I don't own a BlackBerry. Or a computer. I don't even read emails," Allen said, according to Contact Music.
"I was using the Internet in a really destructive way. In the same was as I guess alcoholics and drug addicts have to stop taking drugs or alcohol to see how negatively it affects them.
"I had to stop using the Internet completely. If I was feeling bad, I'd look for negative things people were writing about me to substantiate how I was feeling: 'Look, I am fat and ugly...'"
This isn't the first time Allen has decided to "quit" something cold turkey. Remember earlier this year when she was going to "quit music"? And then later said she was "quitting" again?
That's not to say we don't believe her on this whole Internet thing, it's just that she's got a little bit of a girl who cried wolf syndrome happening right now. I don't want to make unnecessary comparisons, but from the sounds of this, Allen could go anti-Internet Kanye on us at any moment.
Allen's decision to "quit" the Internet has already come under fire from celeb gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who made a post titled "Lily Allen Is A Moron" on Monday (Dec. 14).
"Lily Allen became addicted to the Internet and its negative Lily-fueled content," he wrote. "Although she may have cut herself off from the world, it doesn't stop her from talking!"
