Green Day were forced to postpone a concert in Melbourne, Australia after lead singer Billie-Joe Armstrong came down with a "sudden illness" suspected to be food poisoning.

"Although Billie Joe was determined to perform tonight it became apparent at 4:30 pm that he would be unable to take the stage — particularly in light of the lengthy 2.5-3 hour show the band traditionally perform," a statement posted to the band's website on Monday (Dec. 15) read.

"Tonight's concert will be rescheduled to tomorrow night — Wednesday 16 December. All tickets remain valid and as allocated and do not need to be exchanged."

Refunds will also be available at points of purchase.

In related news, Green Day have also unveiled news about the rumoured Green Day: Rock Band video game, and have release a promo for it.

"We're making a video game with our favourite songs, our favourite venues, our imagery, they're all coming to Rock Band next year," bassist Mike Dirnt said in a video clip showcasing the game on the band's website.

Green Day: Rock Band doesn't have an official release date yet.

The game will feature songs from their entire catalogue and be available for the Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii systems. According to MTV News, the tracklist for Green Day: Rock Band will able be "fully exportable," allowing fans to play the songs in Rock Band and Rock Band 2 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Green Day have seen some of their tunes appear on various versions of Rock Band and released three more songs from their 21st Century Breakdown album on Rock Band on Tuesday,
