Cliks Fans Determined To Stop Chris Murphy Sexy Train

Sloan's Chris Murphy had the lead in the sexiest Canadian man category in our 15th Annual Year End Readers' Poll Monday (Dec. 14) morning. But then The Cliks put a link to their poll on their Facebook page.

Cliks fans must have refreshed the hell out of that voting page because Cliks frontman Lucas Silveira has roared out to take the lead away from Murph, and is nearly 150 votes ahead.

Elsewhere, Sloan and Tegan And Sara seem to be battling it out for dominance in some of the other Readers' Poll's categories.

Sloan fans have started attacking the best Canadian album category, in which their Hit & Run EP currently has the most votes. But Tegan And Sara's Sainthood isn't far behind.

Tegan And Sara's "Hell" currently has the highest percentage of votes in the best song category and they're way ahead of anyone else in the best haircut category, too. Pony Da Look's Amy Bowles is about 50 votes ahead of the Quin twins in the sexiest Canadian woman category, and you can attribute her lead to Sloan fans, given the Sloan-Pony Da Look connection.

We'd like to draw your attention to the fact that lots of you haven't been voting in the stupidest trend category, which we think is actually a really stupid trend in itself. We're glad many of you think the swine flu hysteria and sparkling Twilight vampires are really dumb, but you have to admit Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson got more than tiresome throughout 2009 and, you know, global warming is pretty stupid, too.

Additionally, there were thousands of great videos this year and though we're only giving you the option to vote for about 100 of them, there's no reason why more people haven't voted for The Flaming Lips' "Watching The Planets" in the best video category. Or for anyone else in it, for that matter.

There were also plenty of good and bad things that happened in music this year, including AUX TV, Canadian rock, Avril and Deryck breaking up for real and more. So go vote in those categories, too.

Laziness isn't cool. This is a recession. Make your vote count.
