Axl Rose Retracts Statement Regarding LAX Hissy Fit

After allegedly bloodying a few paparazzo at the Los Angeles International Airport, Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose is now denying a press statement he supposedly released last Friday.
"I did not release any statement or authorize either any statement or anyone to release a statement regarding anything at any airport anywhere," he wrote on the band's MySpace page.
"We had recently began working with newer individuals in management in relation to our current Asian tour in support of our Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy in addition to Irving Azoff's though as it happens we are once again touring Asia without management of any kind.
"[In my opinion] this non sense [sic] may be some type of manufactured or publicity stunt," he continued.
Indeed, the press statement was released via Levine Communications, the public relations firm currently representing the band.
It said the altercation happened after Rose (real name William Rose) was "approached by a group of unchecked and unruly photographers who became aggressive with the singer and female members of the traveling group."
The rest of the statement was hardly incendiary, detailing Rose's travel plans and adding that he was unhurt by the incident.
It's unclear why Rose took exception to the statement. But in the spirit of ruffling the media's feathers, he concluded his MySpace blog entry by taking a swipe at the press.
"To any publications running this; please feel free to tack on whatever negative agenda supporting nonsense you generally do," he wrote. "After all it's only someone else's livelihood you media police state, no fun, spoil sport, communist bastards."
Guns N' Roses wind up their southeast Asian tour in Japan, and they'll be touring Canada throughout January and February.
