Thrush Hermit Playing Reunion Dates In Spring

Thrush Hermit will reunite for a string of dates next year.
The band, which featured Joel Plaskett before his days with The Joel Plaskett Emergency and as a solo artist, Rob Benvie, Ian McGettigan, and a cast of drummers that included Ben Ross, Cliff Gibb and Michael Catano, are expected to play gigs in Moncton, N.B., Halifax, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa in March. They will be doing two-night stints in most of those cities.
Specific venues and dates haven't been confirmed yet, and though the information we've received somewhat jives with a bunch of Thrush Hermit dates that showed up on Pollstar on Friday (Dec. 11), you shouldn't look at those dates as official yet.
This isn't the first time Thrush Hermit have reunited. The band got back together for a one-off show at Halifax's Marquee Club on New Year's Eve, 2005.
Thrush Hermit formed in 1992 and released two albums — 1997's Sweet Homewrecker and 1999's Clayton Park — and several EPs before splitting in 1999.
