Inward Eye Have Gear Stolen In Philly

It appears Winnipeg group Inward Eye should have had an eye on a Philadelphia parking lot earlier this week because their van was robbed of gear and equipment.

Coalition Entertainment tweeted the following on Thursday (Dec. 10): "Last night some gear was stolen at the Inward Eye show in Philly – if you know anything about this, please email ie@coalitionent.com."

No other details were given about what was taken or roughly when the gear was stoken.

But Glen Willows, the band's manager, revealed more in an email to CHARTattack on Friday (Dec. 11) afternoon.

"It happened in the parking lot of their hotel in Philadelphia, all of the guitars were taken and some items from the van like the GPS unit," Willows wrote. "Someone punched the lock open and an alarm went off but no one reported it. They drove right through the gate of the parking lot."

Nico Vega, a band Inward Eye were sharing the bill with on this current trek, also mentioned the theft in a tweet.

"Our sympathy goes out to Inward Eye whose gear got stolen yesterday :(," the band wrote.

Inward Eye – consisting of brothers Anders, Dave and Kyle Erickson — didn't cancel any dates due to the robbery. They played a gig in Cambridge, Mass. Thursday night and perform Friday night at New York's Webster Hall.

Inward Eye join Kill Hannah as bands who've had their gear stolen in the "city of brotherly love." Kill Hannah were stripped of their gear and van in mid-November at a Holiday Inn in the southern part of the city, leaving them only with the clothes on their back. That forced them to cancel the remaining tour dates on their tour.

In related news, Inward Eye just announced six additional dates for 2010 with Down With Webster. The shows include three Canadian stops in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Edmonton. The band will also perform at Edmonton's Shaw Conference Centre with Shinedown and Social Code on New Year's Eve.
