The Acorn finished the follow-up to 2007's Glory Hope Mountain on Wednesday (Dec. 9).

The band announced they'd wrapped up the disc on their Facebook page and on frontman Rolf Klausener's Twitter.

"first snow fall in Ottawa, and our album is done. neat!" he tweeted.

The disc doesn't have a title or definite release date yet, but the band have said they hope to release it in February or March.

The Acorn began recording the album in June on Lac Charron near Gracefield, Que. In a July 1 MySpace blog entry, The Acorn wrote that the disc is being produced by Jarrett Bartlett, who also worked on Glory Hope Mountain and 2006's Tin Fist EP.

"Isolated with no phone or internet to suck up our days and only having a few gophers and hummingbirds as company, the time brought us all together, and yielded some of the best music we've written in years; we're pretty darn excited," the band wrote.

It remains to be seen whether any hummingbirds or gophers made it onto the album.
