It's never too early to start thinking about summer festivals and Balado, Scotland's T In The Park has named Kasabian as its first headliner.
The British dance-rockers aren't strangers to the festival, which takes place from July 9 to 11.
It's the fourth time they've played in Balado, and their first appearance since 2007. But it's the first time they'll get to hog the spotlight as the closing act on the BBC Radio 1 / NME stage.
Playing one of the world's biggest music festivals never gets old for Kasabian singer Tom Meighan.
"T In The Park holds a special place in our hearts," he told NME.com. "We've always said how much we'd love to headline it and now we are. We can't wait, we're going to play a blinder and it's going to be massive for us and for the crowd."
T In The Park has a history of attracting large-name acts — last year Blur, The Killers and Kings Of Leon headlined the festival. The 2009 festival was T In The Park's most successful yet, and won a U.K. Festival Award.
Kasabian will play a string of dates at the Big Day Out Festival with names like The Mars Volta, Lily Allen and Mastodon. They'll be supporting last year's Mercury Prize short listed West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
Kasabian will play the following dates:
Jan. 15 Aukland, New Zealand @ Mt Smart Stadium (Big Day Out)
Jan. 17 Gold Coast, Australia @ Gold Coast Parklands (Big Day Out)
Jan. 22 Sydney, Australia @ Sydney Showgrounds (Big Day Out)
Jan. 26 Melbourne, Australia @ Flemington Racecourse (Big Day Out)
Jan. 29 Adelaide, Australia @ Adelaide Showground (Big Day Out)
Jan. 31 Perth, Australia @ Claremont Showgrounds (Big Day Out)
Feb 8. Paris, France @ Olympia
