With the amount of secrecy surrounding Arcade Fire's upcoming album, you'd think they were the CIA and this was 1950.
Yesterday, CHARTattack mentioned that the band selected Markus Dravs (Coldplay, Bjork) to produce their album — and that they've been working with him for six months.
Billboard.com now reports that the band have nearly finished recording the as-yet-untitled disc, and that it's expected in stores in May. They are also reportedly releasing a single earlier in 2010, which means Arcade Fire-starved fans might be satiated sooner rather than later.
Just as the band's been quiet on the album front, they also haven't played a concert since Obama's campaign staff ball in January of last year.
That's also set to change, as they're also supposedly weighing in concert options for the spring. Billboard.com reports the band will also headline a few North American summer festival dates.
Still, very little information is currently available, so don't pre-order those Lollapalooza or Coachella tickets just yet.
