Limp Bizkit's first studio album since 2005's The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) will not be called The Unquestionable Truth (Part 2). GASP! It'll be dubbed Gold Cobra instead and will be out in early 2010.
Vocalist Fred Durst announced the album's title on his Twitter yesterday, and he had this to say:
"The new Limp Bizkit album will be titled GOLD COBRA!! Spread the werd [sic]. Bring it!"
Just so you know, Durst is already getting the jump on all of you rolling your eyes at this announcement. Yesterday, he tweeted the following:
"I wonder how many 'cool' people will be pleasantly displeased by the new limpbizkit album. Hopefully, most of them. It's cool to be a hater."
As long as Durst realizes most of the world is cooler than him and Limp Bizkit fans, then everything is OK.
Will the music on it be as poisonous to the ears as a cobra's venom is to the body? Only time will tell.
At any rate, Durst, guitarist Wes Borland, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto and DJ Lethal recorded Gold Cobra (that even seems stupid to write) in August after reuniting earlier in the year. No tracklisting has been revealed yet.
Limp Bizkit toured Europe on something dubbed The Unicorns N' Rainbows Tour (I still think Gold Cobra sounds more idiotic) this summer.
