It's been a smashing year for Blur, if we say so ourselves.
First, they reunited for a string of shows earlier this year.
Now, guitarist/sometimes lead singer Graham Coxon is releasing 45-minute soundtrack for a new, as-yet-untitled, British film.
Coxon says he created 13 or 14 songs for the soundtrack, and they're mostly interpretations of classic folk songs and nursery rhymes.
"It's a weird, strange kind of album," he told NME.com, describing the album as "Pink Floyd with fangs."
We've come to expect experimentation from Coxon. Despite his tour schedule, he still managed to release his seventh solo album, The Spinning Top, last May. It was a concept album following a man from birth until death, and displayed Coxon's understated storytelling abilities and songwriting eccentricities.
It's safe to say Damon Albarn isn't the only Blur member who can flex his head.
There's been no further information released about his film score, but we can rest assured that it's in good (read: Coxon's very talented) hands.
