Radiohead, Paul McCartney Donate Items To Online Charity Auction

Radiohead are no strangers to bombast, but have shifted their focus to a different type of explosion: land mines.

The band have donated several hot-ticket items to the Music Beats Mines project, which is auctioning them off, according to Spinner.

Music Beats Mines was set up by the Mines Advisory Group, a non-profit humanitarian organization that works to clear landmines and unexploded mines from conflict zones.

Paul McCartney has contributed a set of stamps and commemorative envelope he designed himself, while ex-Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has donated a signed copy of his Bicycle Diaries book.

As for Thom Yorke and company, they've donated some eye- and- ear-catching items from their personal collection. You'll find original Kid A artwork amongst the goodies.

Hear that? That's the sound of thousands of Brit-pop nerds soiling themselves (and for good reason, we should add).

Other artists who've donated items include Bat For Lashes, members of Snow Patrol, Paulo Nutini, members of Elbow and former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown.
