Voivod Announces U.S., Canadian Tour Dates

Maybe Voivod noticed the heaps of newfound adoration slathered on Anvil, their CanCon metal compatriots. Maybe they took cues from Sebastian Bach, Skid Row's former irrepressible frontman, who has been busy touring with Guns N' Roses and establishing a television career.

Or maybe they just wanted to play some fucking metal.

Whatever the reason, Voivod have announced a pile of shows set for next year.

The Quebec metal legends are hitting the road in March. They’ve announced string of Canadian and U.S. tour dates in support of this year's Infini.

They're in good company — they'll be opening for German thrash gods Kreator on each March date.

Of course, they haven't forgotten La Belle Province, either. For those who can't wait until the spring, they're also headlining shows in Montreal on Dec. 12 and Chicoutimi on Feb. 6.

The shows will be a rare treat for U.S. metalheads. The current incarnation of Voivod features original singer Denis "Snake" Belanger and bassist Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault, who will be crossing the border with the band for the first time in nearly 20 years.
