Actor
Jeremy Piven (TV's
Entourage,
Black Hawk Down) recently "guest-drummed" with
The Fast Romantics during the Calgary indie rockers' set as part of an opening party at the recent opening of a Holt Renfrew store in the city.
According to the
Calgary Sun, Piven played a set with the band, who opened for DJ Samantha Ronson. No, he's not become a full-fledged member of the band, but it still must have been pretty cool and somewhat hilarious to see Ari Gold playing the drums.
Piven reportedly kept playing right through Ronson's set, according to the
Calgary Sun.
Piven is in Calgary to shoot
Waska, a new film in which he plays a father whose son gets lost in the mountains
. Production should finish Dec. 17 or 18. Gaby Dellal (
On A Clear Day) is directing the film, which is based on Leslie Schwartz's
Angels Crest novel.
The Fast Romantics toured the United States last month in support of their recently released self-titled debut. You can see their video for "Sleepy Jean"
