Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake member Spencer Krug will release a solo EP as Moonface on Jan. 29 through Jagjaguwar.
The Dreamland EP: Marimba And Shit-Drums will be available digitally and on one-sided 12-inch vinyl. It will also contain a "dream journal," which is where Krug reportedly got all the ideas for the songs. No tracklisting for the EP has been released yet.
Krug first spoke about working on a "marimba-based EP" in an interview with Stereogum earlier this year.
"[The marimba is] an instrument that I've always liked, but I've never had the patience to bring on the road or even try recording," Krug told the website. "I don't think it's the coolest move for my 'street cred,' but it's a beautiful sounding instrument, what can I say?"
Dreamland EP: Marimba And Shit-Drums is Krug's second Moonface release, according to MBV. It follows a limited-edition seven-inch picture disc Krug released as Moonface earlier this year.
Krug just finished a Japanese tour with Sunset Rubdown in support of the band's new album, Dragonslayer. Swan Lake — which also includes Destroyer and The New Pornographers' Dan Bejar and Frog Eyes' Carey Mercer — released their Enemy Mine sophomore album earlier this year. Wolf Parade's last record was 2008's At Mount Zoomer.
