It's hard to believe U2 have never headlined the Glastonbury Festival. They'll finally do that this coming June for the festival's 40th anniversary.
Well, at least three members of the band haven't played before. Bassist Adam Clayton played the 1989 Glastonbury Festival when he joined the Hothouse Flowers on stage for one song, according to BBC News, but that doesn't really count.
U2 will top the bill at Glastonbury on June 25 during its annual stand at Picton, England's Worthy Farm.
"The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true," festival organizer Michael Eavis said in a statement. "At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world.
"Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline..."
U2 will perform without their "claw" 360 Tour stage set-up, which they'll leave back in North America. U2 will be in the middle of a North American summer tour during their Glastonbury gig, and will fly to England to make their appearance.
If you're looking to get tickets, good luck. They already sold out in 24 hours, and 177,500 people will attend the festival from June 25 to 27. The rest of the Glastonbury lineup will be announced at a later date.
