Weakerthans frontman John K. Samson will embark on a three-date mini tour this December in support of his three-song solo recording, City Route 85. With all these threes, you'd think he was paying homage to Joel Plaskett.
Although The Weakerthans haven't been up to much since their brief tour in September, Samson has been on tour in Europe in support of the EP. City Route 85, which came out Nov. 3 through Anti-, is the first in a series of recordings that will explore streets, roads and highways in his home province of Manitoba.
This first recording in the series explores Winnipeg's Portage Avenue. Samson narrates his movement looking at demolished buildings, Grace General Hospital and the ritualistic drive taken by Winnipeggers every Sunday.
Samson just finished a European tour.
Here are all of his upcoming dates:
Dec. 9 Kingston, ON @ The Grad Club at Queen's University
Dec. 10 Hamilton, ON @ The Casbah
Dec. 11 Toronto, ON @ Lee's Palace w/ Constantines
