Ex-Hefner frontman Darren Hayman was left with a fractured skull after he was attacked and robbed following a gig in Nottingham, England.
Helen Hayman, the singer's wife, took to Hayman's Twitter on Monday to post a link to a message about the attack. She said he'd been discharged from hospital on Monday and was now at home in London, England.
"He and David Shepherd were attacked and mugged whilst parking the car after Nottingham's show," Helen Hayman wrote. "Nothing to do with the gig, just wrong place at the wrong time...
"There should be no long lasting damage [from the injuries], but he does have a linear fracture in his skill (this is the best kind apparently!) which will keep him fairly quiet for six weeks or so. He also has a head wound, a bit of bruising, and a very nasty headache. However they have prescribed a terrifying amount of pain killers to deal with this.
"He has made huge improvements since the incident and I'm sure that it is only a matter of time before he wrestles this computer from me and lets you know what he's doing and what he's up to."
Hayman founded Hefner in 1996 and released four albums with the band before they broke up in 2002. He's since released four solo albums, and the most recent is this year's Pram Town.
