Temple University Marching Band Covers Sum 41's "Fat Lip"

Cover versions aren't unusual, but it's a bit odd when an American university's marching band tries their hand at a punk song.
Sum 41 placed a YouTube video on their website yesterday that features the Temple University Diamond Marching Band performing the band's "Fat Lip." The video, which runs three-and-a-half minutes, features a horn section in lieu of guitar while members of the band provide the vocals for the verses.
The performance apparently went down during a halftime football game between the Temple University Owls and Navy Midshipmen on Oct. 31 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.
But it's not the Temple band's first attempt at a cover. Related YouTube videos show the group covering The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army" and My Chemical Romance's "Welcome To The Black Parade."
Sum 41 will apparently start pre-production on their new studio album next week.
Last month, bassist "Cone" McCaslin said that "the new songs are turning out pretty fuckin' awesome and aggressive" but there's no word when the band will release the record.
The album will be the band's first studio record since 2007's Underclass Hero. Sum 41 put out a compilation entitled All The Good Shit: 14 Solid Gold Hits (2000-2008) earlier this year.
