King Khan & BBQ Show Cancel Gigs After Tour Manager Jailed

The King Khan & BBQ Show
The King Khan & BBQ Show found themselves in some trouble on Thursday (Nov. 12) when their tour van was stopped by police somewhere near Oak Grove, Ky., near the state border with Tennessee.

The band's tour manager, Kristin Klein, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance (which Brooklyn Vegan seems to think is psilocybin... magic mushrooms), according to St. Louis, Mo.'s Riverfront Times. She's since been released on $3,000 U.S. (about $3,100 Canadian) bail.

Rumours were running rampant on Friday afternoon that the duo had been charged with drug possession. But Riverfront Times reports the Kentucky State Police have no record of King Khan (real name Arish Khan) or BBQ (real name Mark Sultan) being arrested or charged with a crime.

The rumours started after the duo they failed to show up for their gig in St. Louis on Thursday (Nov. 12) evening, leaving the promoter to sheepishly announce they would not be appearing after the openers ran through their sets. Full refunds were given to any show-goers who wanted them.

Klein's arrest meant The King Khan & BBQ Show were also forced to cancel their show on Friday in Lawrence, Ks.
