Bad Lieutenant Nix U.S. Dates

Bad Lieutenant — the new band that includes ex-New Order members Bernard Sumner and Phil Cunningham — have had to cancel their U.S. tour because of visa issues.

Bad Lieutenant were supposed to open for Pixies on two of the dates, which were all to take place in Chicago and New York.

"We are also very excited about coming to the States to play our new music for our American fans," Sumner said in a statement. "And are extremely disappointed that, on this occasion, we won't have the opportunity to do so."

Bad Lieutenant will reschedule the cancelled shows, which they plan to play in the spring.

Bad Lieutenant's Never Cry Another Tear debut album came out last month.
