Travis McCoy, frontman for rock/hip-hop crossover group Gym Class Heroes, has written a solo track about travelling the world to promote HIV/AIDS awareness.
McCoy premiered the song, "One At A Time," at a charity event in New York City on Wednesday (Nov. 11). It's about his experiences working with MTV's Staying Alive Foundation, which supports HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention among young people in South Africa, India and the Philippines.
"I had to write a song that encompassed everything I saw and felt on the trip... and also gives the listener an idea of what they can do," McCoy told MTV News.
"One At A Time" will be available as a charity single on iTunes on Dec. 1, which happens to be World AIDS Day. That's also the day Travis McCoy's Unbeaten Track, a documentary about McCoy's travels, will air on MTV stations worldwide. All proceeds from sales of "One At A Time" will go to the Staying Alive Foundation.
More information about the track and documentary can be found on its official website.
