Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash just released "Sahara," the first single from his upcoming Slash & Friends solo album, in Japan. Its B-side is a cover of Guns N' Roses' "Paradise City."
That wouldn't normally be a huge deal, except that it features Fergie and Cypress Hill.
Seriously.
We'll let you decide if this is a good idea. You can hear the single below.
"Until now, not too many people have heard Fergie sing rock & roll but she sings it better than most dudes I know," Slash tweeted on Wednesday (Nov. 11). "She's a screamer at heart."
If you're very upset by this, don't worry: Slash further updated his Twitter to let fans know the B-side will only be included on the Japanese single and will not be released in North America.
What will Axl Rose think of this?
Slash and Fergie have performed Guns N' Roses hits in the past. The duo did "Sweet Child O' Mine" together earlier this year. Fergie also did a competent version of Heart's "Barracuda" for the Shrek The Third soundtrack.
Slash & Friends will be out in March, according to Blabbermouth. Iggy Pop, Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, Alice Cooper, Flea, Guns N' Roses minus Rose, Lemmy, Kid Rock and Alter Bridge singer Miles Kennedy will appear on the album.
Slash will appear on Rihanna's upcoming new album, Rated R, due out Nov. 20.
You can hear the reworked "Paradise City" below:
You can see Slash on Nov. 22 at Los Angeles' Avalon Ballroom.

This isn't terrible, but that isn't the point.
Covers or sampling old songs are almost never good. You accept Fall Out Boy covering Beat It because Fall Out Boy are sell out media whores...it is what it is. But this is Slash, taking something he contributed to and shitting all over it.
It's like the second Slash got clean he turned into a sell out pussy and forgot what rock and roll was about.
