Gwar Celebrate 25 Years On Earth Because Humans Think It's Important

They're still cleaning up the mess Gwar made when they came to Canada's east coast a couple weeks ago, leaving the dead piled high and a bloody trail in their wake.

The band are celebrating 25 years since being thawed from their Antarctic slumber, and are continuing their mission to exterminate the human race through music. Their latest weapon is their new album, Lust In Space.

"Twenty-five years is a fucking long time for a human, but for Gwar it's nothing," declares band leader Oderus Urungus. "We've been alive for so many billions of years, you see. Since we've been thawed amongst the human race, we understand it's a pretty big deal for the humans. So what the hell? We're going to celebrate in fine style!"

Although Gwar finally have the ability to space-travel thanks to a stolen Scumdog ship, Urungus insists he will never truly leave this Earth. His love for killing humans and playing belligerent thrash metal only continues to grow, and time will tell where Gwar's musical direction will take them in another 40 billion years.

"Who knows what kind of concepts we'll embrace in the future or what music will even be? I know that for now as far as this microcosm of the human existence and this chapter of our grand historic lives, Gwar seems to be reveling in playing heavy metal because it makes us very, very happy."

Canadian Gwar slaves on the west coast will get the chance to surrender their lives later this month and early next, as heavy metal's most famous extra-terrestrials come to pillage.

"Canadians have a fanatical, drunkenly debauched support for metal that's very refreshing to see," Urungus says. "There are a lot more people who come to our shows up here, and I don't know why the fuck that is. When the recession seems to have hurt the American concert-going public, nobody seems to be hurting here too much, except of course the polar bears and the Native people who used to live here who were exterminated."
