Steven Tyler Totally Back In Aerosmith (Or Was He Ever Out?)

Last week we reported that Steven Tyler had allegedly left Aerosmith. After being "separated" for barely six days, it seems that this may no longer be true.
In what appears to be a classic case of miscommunication, it's unclear whether Tyler really ever did leave Aerosmith, or if his bandmates and the media misread his intentions.
Let's recap. Last week, guitarist Joe Perry told the Las Vegas Sun he'd heard Tyler had left the band, but hadn't had a chance to confirm with him because the two are rarely in contact.
"Steven quit as far as I can tell. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever," Perry told the newspaper.
Okay, so if you think your iconic frontman of 40 years has quit the band, you should probably check before the story spirals out of control over the Internet, right?
Rather than checking with Tyler, Perry tweeted that the band would be looking for a new singer.
"In the meantime aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of expiriance and throwitinthebin" (his grammar and spelling, not mine).
Rumours continued to spiral as reports grew that after a Nov. 1 gig in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates that the band were talking about touring with someone else.
So, did Tyler quit, or did he get kicked out?
Classic Rock Magazine reported Tyler saying, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler: working on the brand of myself — Brand Tyler." Gakk.
That, compounded with the fact that Perry has been working on a solo album, Have Guitar, Will Travel made it sound like Tyler had quit the band.
Ye of little faith would be proven wrong, however. Last night the two were reunited in New York at one of Perry's solo shows at New York City's Irving Plaza.
Tyler Kanye'd the gig where he announced, "I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith!" before launching into "Walk This Way" to wild applause.
"Joe Perry, you are a many of many colours. But I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!" he also yelled.
Great.
