Gavin Rossdale is going goth.... for TV, at least.
The former Bush frontman and Gwen Stefani's husband will appear on Wednesday's (Nov. 11) episode of Criminal Minds. He'll play Dante, a goth rocker and murder suspect who Rossdale told the Chicago Now website is also a "junkie" and "very upset with life."
Rossdale will also cover Joy Division's goth standard, "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on the show, and he's well aware that he'll most likely destroy the song.
"I love that song," Rossdale told the website. "I really wanted to see if I could ruin that. And they let me ruin it."
Rossdale told Chicago Now the producers originally wanted him to cover Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows," but he convinced them to let him do "Love Will Tear Us Apart" instead.
"I was a bit worried, especially for me being English. I just have so much respect for that band. I've just regretted it so much every since I did it... You can't fuck with perfection, you know?
"I feel a bit scared about it but I really enjoyed doing it and selfishly loved singing on it and playing on it."
