Magnetic Fields Getting Realistic For New Album

The Magnetic Fields
The Magnetic Fields celebrate their 20th anniversary this year, and will continue the festivities with the release of a new album, Realism, on Jan. 26 through Nonesuch.

The disc is the follow-up to 2008's Distortion, and the bathroom logo-bearing albums are meant to complement each other. Of course, the first was a neon pink and black-decorated Jesus And Mary Chain-influenced album, while the second is meant to be a friendlier and warmer "realistic" album.

Realism is is allegedly the end of The Magnetic Fields' "no-synth trilogy," the first of which was 2004's i.

Although little has been reported about the album other than its tracklist and release date, it's likely the band will tour in support of Realism's release.

Here's what's on Realism:

"You Must Be Out of Your Mind"
"Interlude"
"We Are Having a Hootennany"
"I Don't Know What To Say"
"The Dolls' Tea Party"
"Everything Is One Big Christmas Tree"
"Walk a Lonely Road"
"Always Already Gone"
"Seduced and Abandoned"
"Better Things"
"Painted Flower"
"The Dada Polka"
"From a Sinking Boat"
