DMX Can't Fix MMA Fight, Replaced By Coolio

DMX was due to compete in a mixed martial arts match against an actor named Eric Martinez on Dec. 12 in Alabama, but pulled out after the organizers reportedly wouldn't fix the fight in his favour.

As a result, Coolio will fight in his place, according to Vibe magazine.

According to documents TMZ says it obtained, DMX's manager reportedly wanted an addendum to the contract which said DMX "is scheduled to win the Boxing Challenge." Why? Because "all parties agree this event has been scheduled to occur only in fun and that the artist involved is not a professional boxer."

TMZ reports Thunder Promotions, which was organizing the fight, wouldn't sign the addendum, and said they never agreed to fix the fight.

Coolio, according to the promoters, is going to "take [the fight] seriously," unlike DMX.

Contact Music reports Thunder Promotions is preparing a breach of contract lawsuit against DMX, but nothing's been filed yet.
