Toronto punk band Hostage Life will break up three days after the release of their upcoming new album, Center Of The Universe.

The band, who are scheduled to release the album physically on Nov. 17 (it's already out digitally for free from Juicebox Recording Co.), will play their final show on Nov. 20 at Toronto's Sneaky Dee's.

"This may seem like it is coming out of left field, but one of us had some personal problems that needed to be taken care of and the rest of the band decided it would be better to break up than to continue a man short," the band wrote on their blog on Wednesday (Nov. 4). "Thanks to everyone that helped, watched, hated, loved, and listened."

Hostage Life formed in 2002 and released their Sing For The Enemy debut EP two years later. It was followed by 2006's Walking Papers debut album and this year's Centre Of The Universe. The band's lineup currently consists of vocalist Colin Lichti, guitarists Hai Vu and Patrick Mathers, bassist Shamus Mathers and drummer Paul Miller.

Here are Hostage Life's final gigs:

Nov. 15 Ottawa, ON @ Cafe Dekcuf w/ Dig It Up
