Hulk Hogan Wanted To Play Bass For Metallica, Rolling Stones

Hulk Hogan

Before he was a pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan used to play bass for varioius Florida-based rock bands. The Hulkster had bigger musical ambitions, though. Specifically, he wanted to play with Metallica and The Rolling Stones.

The Chicago Tribune recently interviewed the wrestler about his recently released autobiography, My Life Outside The Ring. It's his second memoir, following 2003's Hollywood Hulk Hogan. During the interview, he told the newspaper that he would have left wrestling to play bass in the two aforementioned bands — if only someone had taken him seriously.

"I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger's ex, and she told me the [Rolling] Stones were looking for a bass player," Hogan told The Chicago Tribune. "I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said, 'Tell Mick I'm a great bass player.' I never heard a word back.

"When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to b a bass player for Metallica."

Truthfully, we can picture Hogan more as a member of Metallica, but he'd probably have to give up the red and yellow feather boas.
