Before he was a pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan used to play bass for varioius Florida-based rock bands. The Hulkster had bigger musical ambitions, though. Specifically, he wanted to play with Metallica and The Rolling Stones.
The Chicago Tribune recently interviewed the wrestler about his recently released autobiography, My Life Outside The Ring. It's his second memoir, following 2003's Hollywood Hulk Hogan. During the interview, he told the newspaper that he would have left wrestling to play bass in the two aforementioned bands — if only someone had taken him seriously.
"I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger's ex, and she told me the [Rolling] Stones were looking for a bass player," Hogan told The Chicago Tribune. "I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said, 'Tell Mick I'm a great bass player.' I never heard a word back.
"When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to b a bass player for Metallica."
Truthfully, we can picture Hogan more as a member of Metallica, but he'd probably have to give up the red and yellow feather boas.

Here's a clip of Hogan playing with some band called Diamondback:
And some smartassery:

And "Hulk Rules"... he'll stand up for your freedom:
When he steps into the ring,
He's ready for a fight.
He's calling for his pythons,
I loaded up tonight.
Everybody's talking trash,
But he knows that talk is cheap.
If you mess with the Hulkster,
He'll rearrange your teeth.
Chorus:
Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, woooah
The Hulkster Rules!
Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, woooah
The Hulkster Rules!
If you ever get in trouble,
And you need a helping hand.
Just call on the Hulkster,
And he will be your friend.
He'll stand up for your freedom,
He'll stand up for your rights.
You know you'll ???,
Whenever there's a fight.
Chorus. (Yeaaaaaaah)
(Hulkster rules!)
(Yah, yah yah!)
Woah, woah. Hulkster Rules.
Woah, woah. Hulkster Rules.
Woah, woah. Hulkster Rules.
Woah, woah. Hulkster Rules.

Here's the lyrics to Hulk's song "Hulkster's In The House"
The Hulkster's in the house
Check him out, check him out.
Get up off your seat.
He's got a brand new beat.
Chorus:
When the going gets tough,
The tough get rough.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
The Hulkster's in the room.
You know he's on the move.
I can feel it in my feet.
We're moving to the beat.
Chorus x2.
We're rocking down the house.
The baddest play alive.
We're blowing off the roof.
And we're gunna rock and roll.
Chorus.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.
Hey hey, ho ho, come on, let's go.:
