As mentioned last week on the The Chart Time Tunnel, Stereolab's Cobra And Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night began its six week dominance of the campus chart during the fall of 1999. So over the nex month, we'll feature other bands with a bit of a history on the chart.

SIANspheric's Else was the highest debut of the week of Oct. 21 to 28, 1999 entering at #10. Sonic Unyon released this compilation album after the shoegazer band had put out just two albums, 1995's Somnium and 1997's There's Always Someplace You'd Rather Be.

Somnium was on Chart magazine's Top 50 monthly chart for four months from  September to December 1995. The record was also the #40 album on Chart's second list of the top 50 Canadian albums of all time, compiled in 2001.

SIANspheric's There's Always Someplace You'd Rather Be sophomore album debuted in late July 1998 and stuck on the chart for 15 weeks.

Two years after the release of Else, the band's last album, The Sound Of The Colour Of The Sun, debuted in July 2001 and also remained on the chart for 15 weeks. It bounced in and out of the top 10 on four different occasions, peaking at #2. Else lasted 14 weeks also peaking at #2.

SIANspheric went on indefinite hiatus in 2002, though the quartet got back together in 2005 to record a single that came out a year later. The band's one page website now says they're working on an upcoming album called Writing The Future In Letters Of Fire.

Here's a rundown of the top five. The Sadies' Pure Diamond Gold charted after Stereolab, rising one place to #2. The Sadies were followed by The Folk Implosion's One Part Lullaby, jumping one spot to #3. Julie Doiron And Wooden Stars' eponymous release dropped two places to #4, while Sloan's Between The Bridges rose two places to sit at #5.

There weren't too many new entries beyond Else's impressive debut. Cannibal Corpse's Bloodthirst arrived at #22, while Sarah Slean's Blue Parade debuted at #29. Blue Parade was Slean's independently-released debut and eventually led to her signing with Warner in 2001.

Iggy Pop's Avenue B entered at #49, followed by the brilliant Super Furry Animals' Guerrilla at #50.
