Nine Inch Nails Drummer Physically Releasing New Regime Album

The New Regime
Ilan Rubin, Nine Inch Nails' drummer on their recent Wave Goodbye trek, will soon physically release a new album entitled Coup with his own band, The New Regime.

The album was released digitally last year. The first 1,000 fans pre-ordering the record will receive an autographed "deluxe edition" featuring a DVD with live performances and interviews, a 16-page colour booklet and have access to downloadable instrumental mixes. The offer also comes with a pair of Rubin's drumsticks.

"The reason why Coup was released digitally was because it made the most sense at the time," Rubin said in a MySpace blog entry in June. "Although I was proud of my first 10 songs, I didn't have very big expectations for it. So spending money on 5,000 CDs that could've very well spent the rest of time sitting in my garage if no one liked it seemed like a real waste."

The musician — who started The New Regime during his downtime as drummer of British group Lostprophets — has been contemplating touring behind the record, but no dates have been announced yet. The band's live lineup has consisted of Rubin, drummer Hayden Scott, Chris Lewis of Fenix TX on guitar and bassist Mike Frey.

Rubin is reportedly working on new material in the studio for The New Regime sophomore effort.

Here is the track listing for Coup:

"The Collapse"
"Order Restored"
"All These Changes"
"Take Control"
"Time Erase"
"Haunt My Mind"
"This War Time"
"The Credit 'We' Deserve"
"Tap Dancing In A Minefield
"Somethings"
