Stone Temple Pilots are hoping to release their first album since 2001's Shangri-La Dee Da next year.
Singer Scott Weiland told Spinner.ca the band plan to release the as-yet-untitled disc sometime in 2010, but they've got to finish their upcoming round of tour dates first.
"When we get back, we're going to finish the album," Weiland told the website. "And then when we finish the album, there will be a big tour around its release and that will probably be a long tour."
Weiland says the tour will probably last about a year, and he'll begin work on his third studio album, the follow-up to last year's Happy In Galoshes, when the jaunt finishes.
There's still no word on whether Velvet Revolver have found a new singer to replace Weiland, presumably because Slash is hard at work on a solo album.
