Fans of
Timber Timbre (a.k.a. Taylor Kirk) looking for a Hallowe'en treat this week are in luck. From now until midnight on Saturday (that's Hallowe'en), you can download Timber Timbre's
entire self-titled album for
FREE.
Timber Timbre was
long listed for the Polaris Music Prize earlier this year, and Kirk has been receiving unbelievable press for this album. The self-titled release has come a long way: it was originally released with help from the Ontario Arts Council and was later picked up by Arts & Crafts for wider distribution.
Considering Timber Timbre's sound is often eerie and macabre, it would do nicely to play in the background while you're handing out candy to bratty kids in Wal-Mart-bought Optimus Prime costumes. Fans can also listen to the album performed live in studio tomorrow at 11 a.m. pacific time on
KCRW in Los Angeles.
Here are Timber Timbre's upcoming tour dates:
Oct. 28 Los Angeles, CA @ KCRW (11 a.m. PST)
Oct. 28 Los Angeles, CA @ Origami Vinyl
Oct. 29 Los Angeles, CA @ Bootleg Theatre w/ The Antlers
Nov. 7 Toronto, ON @ North York Library
Nov. 17 Albany, NY @ Valentines
