Novels is a new project that includes members of Tokyo Police Club, Born Ruffians, Will Currie And The Country French and other acts. They've recorded a five-song EP that's due out sometime soon.
Tokyo Police Club's Graham Wright, Born Ruffians frontman Luke Lalonde, Will Currie of Will Currie & The Country French, Tin Star Orphans' Dean Marino and Jay Sad's Jay Sadlowski comprise the new group.
Novels spent a "marathon" 24-hour session "locked" up at Toronto's Chemical Sound, where they recorded songs for a five-track EP. The mini-album will not be sold at shows, online or in stores. Instead, the band plan to give them away or simply leave them somewhere for you to find.
"Maybe you'll find a copy sitting on a park bench," a post on the band's website reads. "Maybe a masked man will hand you one as he passes you on the street. Maybe none of these things will happen. But we'll make sure that everyone gets a chance to listen if they want to."
Novels have also posted several short videos, which director Wade Vroom shot while the band were recording. Novels The Movie, a documentary Vroom culled from his filming, recently screened at Pop Montreal.
