Canadian Metallica Fans Understand Lamb Of God Better

Richmond, Va.'s Lamb Of God are currently touring North America, alternating between headlining dates touring with Gwar and Job For A Cowboy and as a supporting act for Metallica.
Yes, the Metallica.
They're coming to Canada this week, including back-to-back sold out arena shows in Toronto and Quebec City, and headlining shows in Halifax, Moncton, N.B. and a few other stops.
"Canadian fans are nutbags and we've always been shown a lot of love in Canada," bassist John Campbell told CHARTattack while on the road in the States.
Although he admits he prefers playing the smaller venues over massive arenas such as the Air Canada Centre or the Colisee Pepsi, being this side of the border softens the stigma of being the opening act.
"It's a lot more fun when we go play these Metallica shows up there because I think we have a lot more of a crossover in audiences [in Canada] than we do in other parts of the U.S.
"We've played some shows and have seen a lot of people when we walk out there with just arms crossed, like, 'Who the fuck are these guys?' Generally by the time we're done, they at least understand what's going on, but when we walk out onstage in Canada our fans are there. It makes it a lot more fun for us to show up and have a bunch of Canucks screaming at us."
He still can't fully get over playing sold out shows with Metallica, especially back-to-back with up to 20,000 people every night. But he admits his band had little to do with ticket sales.
"I don't know who sent a briefcase of what to who in order to get us on this tour, but worked out right for us," Campbell says with a laugh. "And I think it's very possible the shows were sold out before Metallica even announced who was on the bill."
