U2 will return to North America next spring and summer to play some more shows in support of No Line On The Horizon.
The band will once again have their special 360 "claw" stage with them at the dates, which take place in June and July and include dates in Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal. After the North American dates finish, U2 will head to Europe to play some more shows in support of the album.
Presales for shows in Oakland, Calif., Toronto and Montreal run from Tuesday (Oct. 27) to Thursday (Oct. 29), and presales will also be held for gigs in Athens, Greece and Istanbul, Turkey from Thursday (Oct. 29) to Saturday (Oct. 31).
Tickets for the Toronto and Edmonton shows go on sale to the public through Ticketmaster and Live Nation on Nov. 2. Tickets for the other North American dates are on sale now or should go on sale shortly.
Meanwhile, Bono says he's disappointed with No Line On The Horizon's sales. He told the Associated Press he thinks the album hasn't sold as well as it could because the disc is perhaps too high brow for a public used to buying records made by "pop stars."
"We weren't really in that mindset," Bono told the Associated Press. "We felt that the 'album' is almost an extinct species, and we [tried to] create a mood and a feeling, and a beginning, middle and an end. And I suppose we've made a work that is a bit challenging for people who have grown up on a diet of pop stars.
"[We didn't] pull off the pop songs."
"The commercial challenges have to be confronted," bassist Adam Clayton agreed, "but I think, in a sense, the more interesting challenge is: 'What is rock 'n' roll changing in this world?'"
No Line On The Horizon has sold one million copies since it was released in February.
