Sunparlour Players Getting Serious About Canned Food

Sunparlour Players
Sunparlour Players are well-known for hawking their own homemade preserves like mustard, jellies and spreads at their shows, so it's appropriate that they've partnered with home canning company Bernardin.

The partnership grew out of a show Bernardin president Jim Rotz attended, where he saw the band selling their own preserves along with their merchandise.

"With the resurgence of eating local and thinking about where your food is coming from, home canning is one of those things that is really becoming popular again," singer/guitarist Andrew Penner says. "We've been doing this for a while, selling some of our favourite preserves at our shows when we tour."

Sunparlour Players, who are touring in support of this year's Wave North sophomore album, are currently selling their own strong mustard and red pepper and basil spreads. They'll soon have beet jelly on hand at their fall and winter shows. You should expect them to be contained in Bernardin canning products.
