DMX was due to perform at a charity event in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday, but arrived an hour-and-a-half late, only to have security bar him from going on stage.
DMX wasn't about to have that, but the venue's security threatened to arrest him if he tried to go on stage. The security guards told DMX he was supposed to perform at 9:30 and it was at that point 11 p.m. The show was a fundraiser for American Charities, a food bank and clothing centre.
A video has surfaced online that shows DMX screaming at security, followed by a physical fight. DMX eventually did manage to get on stage, but the sound system wasn't on and he was later asked to make like a tree and leave.
Here's the video:
"[DMX's] DJ went out to do soundcheck and the promoter said he was trying to build up the crowd, so he said, as opposed to 9 p.m., could you have him here by 11 p.m.?" Walker told MTV News. "[His road manager] said that was fine and she called me because the promoter said they have permits that say they had to close at a certain time, but if that's what he's saying, that's fine.
"X is a different man now, and in the past he would have gotten angry and blown up, but he gets out and sees people leaving and sees them angry and he starts a prayer in the parking lot to get them calmed down. Now the crowd is following him back into the building and security is trying to prevent him from getting on the stage."
Nice to see DMX is taking that preacher thing seriously.
A bunch of reports have surfaced online that say a full-scale riot broke out at the show, and Nakia Walker, DMX's manager, told MTV News a SWAT team was called to the event, but Colorado Springs police told MTV News that never happened.
Walker, meanwhile, told MTV News she thinks she thinks DMX was not allowed to perform because not enough tickets were sold for the event and the promoter didn't have enough money to pay the rapper.

Nakia Walker, DMX's manager says the whole thing was not nearly as serious as it has been made out to be and was a misunderstanding between DMX, the promoter and security.
